Allan James Loughran, 75 of Sterling, Colorado passed away peacefully on Friday, October 20, 2017 at Sunset Manor in Brush, Colorado. Visitation will be from 12 – 7 p.m., with family receiving friends from 4 – 7 p.m. on Monday, October 23 at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home. Funeral services for Allan will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 24 at Chaney- Reager Funeral Home with Pastor Don Schauda officiating. Allan will be laid to rest at the Riverside Cemetery in Sterling, Colorado.

Allan was born on December 9, 1941 in Broken Bow, Nebraska to Tommy and Catherine (Zeigler) Loughran.

He worked 32 years as an engineer for the Burlington Railroad.  In his spare time, he enjoyed roping, golfing, and spending time with friends and family. Allan was always there for everyone with a joke or a funny story. Allan married Jolene Mersch on April 19, 1990 in Cancun, Mexico. He had six children, 4 sons and 2 daughters.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Tommy and Catherine.

Allan is survived by his wife and best friend Jolene; children, Jeff Loughran, of Williston, ND, Teresa Gilligan, of Rock Island, IL, Kristina Brakeman, of Gilbert, AZ, Matt Loughran, of Pisgah, IA, Ty Penfold and Troy Penfold, both of Sterling, CO; sisters and brothers, Joan Rush of Cozad, NE and Sue Schauda of Comstock, NE; Mick Loughran of Lincoln, NE and Randy Loughran of Broken Bow, NE; as well as his many loving grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other friends.
