Alice L. Anderson, 93 of Iliff, was born Oct. 7, 1919 in Battle Creek, Iowa and died Sun., Aug. 11, 2013 in Iliff.
Funeral services will be held Wed., Aug. 14, 2013 at 2 p.m. at the Faith United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Memorials in her honor may be made to the Alice Anderson Memorial.
Alice was born to Elmer A. and Lucille (Comport) Bailey in the same farmhouse that her father was born in in Battle Creek.
Her family moved from Shanandoah, Iowa to South Dakota in 1954 to farm. She went to school until she graduated from high school at the age of 16. In 1977, her family sold that farm and moved to Iliff. During WWII, she was a Rosie the Riveter at McDonald-Douglas.
On March 1, 1947, Alice married John C. Anderson in Council Bluff, Iowa.
A member of the Methodist faith, she was the Iliff Senior Citizen site supervisor for 16 years.
Mrs. Anderson is survived by her children: John F. Anderson of Iliff, Dan Anderson and wife Cheryl of Ft. Collins, Ivan Anderson of Wheat Ridge, Gwendolyn Laprath of Sloan, Iowa, Jennifer Anderson of Iliff, Andrea Nichols and husband Gary of Wetmore and Tom Anderson and wife Cindy of Gilcrest; sister Betty Shaffer and husband Lyle of Dixon, S.D.; as well as 14 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
