Adelbert Davis, 91, of Sterling, passed away Jan. 31, 2014, in Sterling. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 4, at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 5, at Sterling Foursquare Church, with the Rev. Ben Hackbarth officiating. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery.

Adelbert was born Oct. 17, 1922, in Willard to Adelbert and Anna Florence (Young)Davis.

He owned and operated North Sand and Gravel for 50 years.

On Jan. 16, 1943, he married Iva Mae North in Kimball, Neb.

He was a member of Sterling Foursquare Church and a former VFW member. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping.

Adelbert is survived by his wife, Iva Mae Davis of Sterling; sons, Adelbert E. "Gene" Davis and wife Marie of Fort Collins, Wayne Davis of Sterling; grandchildren, Terry Molnar, Dee Lyn Matthews and husband Jeff, Robert Davis and wife Lorna, Mario Gonzales, Vanessa Davis and husband Greg, Jared Davis and Rachele; and 13 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Wanda Tiedgen; eight sisters and two brothers.
